The New Audi A4
(A4 1.6i)

Audi A4

When we heard about the new version of the car we were all anticipating what it was going to be like. Well the result is just what we expected from Audi. Another great mid-sized executive car. Its rivals from Mercedes and BMW have always overshadowed the Audi, but the new version of Audi's junior executive has now entered the ring with a strong bid to take the title.

Everything about the new A4 is slick and silky. The high sideline creates an elegant and yet sporty impression, intensified by the newly developed flat dome roof. The back-end highly mounted bumper-rear lighting unit gives a futuristic look and feel to the car.

The new A4 is bigger and wider than the old version, yet doesn't look it. It has a bigger cabin and increased headroom. It offers a superb interior with a generous use of lovely walnut veneer, and aluminium trim as standard. This car still holds its renound precision and refinement, but the interior is lacking a complete change.

The car now offers for front-seat passengers, alloy wheels and an electric sunroof as standard. It has a max speed of 118mph. It will hit 0-62mph in around 12sec and give 36mpg, which is great. It has 102bhp and has a starting price tag of 25,000.

Overall I like the new car styling, and it still lived up to its solid build reputation. Still an excellent all-rounder and more able to compete with BMW and Mercedes, so I would say Audi accomplished what they hoped for with this car.
